Am I glad this converter came along!
As a digital media artist/videographer, I rely on whatever new technology happens my way to come through for me in my line of work—and video conversion is no exception. Currently, I’m busy putting together another demo video of my dad and his friend doing Irish traditional guitar music for an upcoming folk music convention. The latter uses a Panasonic Lumix camera (I forget which model number it was) that uses a different kind of AVCHD that Final Cut Pro wouldn’t allow me to use Log and Transfer on. Most of the converters I already have on my system (names notwithstanding) didn’t even have a clue what it was. Then suddenly, after a quick search, I happened upon this—free AND easy. With AVCHD to Mov, I managed to get all 4 parts of that camera footage of my dad’s friend playing converted into files just right for FCP all in a day. Hallelujah!
AVCHD—its time has come.
