AVCHD to Mov Lite App Reviews

I have videos created from my Sony Alpha 77. - Which I was surprised that it recorded in a video format that dumped all the videos into single file (wonder whose crazy idea that was?) I got this program to convert them to .MV4’s or just wrap them into .MP4’s like others said was easy. Everything I tried on the wrap failed. I tried to convert them to iPad iPod 1080p video - which being it was already 1080p, wouldn’t be a change? I don’t know, but it says it will be done with the processing in only 13 hours. I guess I will find out then what it does. I would have expected the default option to at least work - instead of creating a lot of 0 byte files. The other obvious feature would be to default the extraction of the files to the directory where the source is in. Apparently, I have ot add and then remove (I hope I can) the directory from the list...

I needed an app to do this because my previous method was not very good beacuse the program would crash regularly. I googled and found this and I am very stisfied with it. I still use Final Cut express, so getting AVCHD files into it can be nightmarish especially when you have to get something done with a deadline looming. Anyway, you have to fiddle around and find the right setting for the output, but once you do it will work as promised and the price is awesome. The File output I use is FCPX Master because if I’m not mistaked that’s Final Cut Pro X Master File which is basically a .mov and I’ve had a friend cover AVCHD files for me in FCPX before and he used the Master File to output them. If you’re looking for a converter, your search is over. Just make sure you have time to wait for the conversions to finish.

As a digital media artist/videographer, I rely on whatever new technology happens my way to come through for me in my line of work—and video conversion is no exception. Currently, I’m busy putting together another demo video of my dad and his friend doing Irish traditional guitar music for an upcoming folk music convention. The latter uses a Panasonic Lumix camera (I forget which model number it was) that uses a different kind of AVCHD that Final Cut Pro wouldn’t allow me to use Log and Transfer on. Most of the converters I already have on my system (names notwithstanding) didn’t even have a clue what it was. Then suddenly, after a quick search, I happened upon this—free AND easy. With AVCHD to Mov, I managed to get all 4 parts of that camera footage of my dad’s friend playing converted into files just right for FCP all in a day. Hallelujah! AVCHD—its time has come.

Worked great! New sony Alpha 6000 videos couldn’t be viewed through aperture, needed to send immediately and Free AVCHD to MOV translated quickly and without any hitches.

converting from .mts to .mov not working! cannot be processed in FinalCutPro without heavy quality losses.

Works as intended while giving many output formats!

Not terribly fast, but it does the job properly. Took my ‘crippled’ MTS file and rendered it out to a MOV. A good helper program. Original user interface takes a few seconds to acclimatize, but it is not inscrutable! If I needed the advanced features I would not hesitate to buy the Pro version.

converting to mov is free and works great, too bad you have to pay for other preset formats.

Took four years worth of MTS files and, in SECONDS, spit out MOV wrapped files that work with iMovie OS X 10.11 (what’s even more shocking is that it was 2.5 GB worth of data that was duplicated in mere seconds on a MBP 2015 13.3”). Why on Earth can’t iMovie do this itself?

To author: Really great, you should make more emphasis on "Rewrap to mov" feature in your App description. Final Cut Pro X でAVCHD(.MTS)を直接編集すると、「最適化されたメディア」を作成してもなお色々な不具合が出たり固まったりします。このソフトを使ってmovに変換するだけで（ac3音声ストリームのみAACに変換）実に快適に編集ができるようになります。 サブタイトルストリームはエラーで変換失敗する事があるので、その場合は設定で All Stream のチェックを外すこと。

I have an AVCHD Package from my Panasonic Video camera in the package or container was 36 files , This software opened them but would not convert them so I could use them , I am not converting thru Quicktime 1 by 1

This app is not reliable at all, I had to load my video clips into it multiple times. Still havent gotten to the converting process, debug this app and maybe I will change my mind… Looking for an alternative!

Works great at a great price. I needed to convert my wedding videos in AVCHD into another format and this did the trick.

GUI was extrememely “user friendly” and intuitive. The drag and drop feature allowed me to drag the AVCHD file from my desktop to the window and automatically created separate queued files for conversion. The workflow is fabulous. For the queue, I was able to choose the format of file (best size for the type of viewing being done ipad, iphone, etc…). There appears to be a feature to “send to iTunes” once completed, which was checked, but didn’t work. Not a big deal but would have been nice to automatically send these videos to the Home Movies section in iTunes. The Movie Destination folder isn’t the most intuitive. To change the destination you have to click the button “Add” and then it allows you to select a new destination. I would probably have used the word “Change” to make it more intuitive. I didn’t use any of the custom settings and can’t speak to them.
