AVCHD to Mov Lite App Reviews

Good for clean video source

Rev 1.56 has the same audio sync issues, works great with good source video. Otherwise one needs a more powerful tool(s). I tried this as a mts to mov/ProRes converter. When the mts file is in decent shape this app does a nice efficient job. Plenty of nice features, batch capability, easy to set up and run. But if there are glitches in the source media, the app has a tendency to advance the audio before the video, the sync gets several second off. That may have something to do with not looking at the time code. I’m not sure whats better, discovering the problem sooner like crashing like other apps of this type, or messing up the sync, which one won’t discover until later. But for your every day video camera media, it should work just fine.

Worked perfect

We needed to convert m2ts to .mov . Worked like a charm.

This App is easy to use and it has a lot of codecs to choose from. The conversion of full length videos are done extremely quick. Keep up the great work!

Does everything I wanted it to

Happy with this program… I would certainly pay a few $ to have now that I’ve used it. Comes with many conversion and rewrap options. Have to fiddle for a bit to determine best settings per application. Wisdom for all conversion programs… when you reencode it takes a long time and typically baloons the file size and often degrades the quality. AVCHD Wisdom... AVCHD which is the recording and file protocol for most modern HD camcorders is a pain to work with or watch natively using anything but the camera you recorded it on. If you instead “Rewrap” the AVCHD (.MTS file) as a .mov file, it is playable in many places (like Xbox) and takes only a minute or so per hour of video using this great program. Rewraping won’t get it to your iPad tho if that’s your goal… only a reencoding will do that from what I’ve experienced (for Mac users - reencoding/rewraping can be done right in iPhoto (just "Import" it) from the memory card as long as you import the whole card and don’t drill down to the actual mts files… you can drag mts files to iMovie if you like tho).

Best one out there!

I have tried so many programs to convert some Sony AVCHD files… This one finally worked! Great little App.

Works really well

Everything I’ve converted turns out flawless. Great, simple app. Thanks!

Excellent!!!

This converter has every imaginable output format! Works great even for pro editors like me!

Dont Usually do this

I dont usually leave reviews but I felt like i had to for this one. Awesome app. been struggling to find a reliable AVCHD converter all night and happened to stubble on this one that is FAST, EASY and DOES NOT leave any watermarks or try and get you to buy anything. Its GREAT I would have paid to get this app. I just want to thank these guys for helping me out of a jam! Cheers folks :-)

Converts corrupted files

I’ve been trying to convert my AVCHD files to Prores files but every time I do the file comes out wrong. The converted video only plays for a few seconds and then stops playing while the audio continues playing for a few more seconds, then everything just stops completely. I can’t use this until it actually does its job.

Impressive

I made a mistake and recorded video in the ACHD mode instead of MP4.This software quickly converted it for me. Very impressive software. It is worth buying as it is also easy to use.

Great App

First time I used it I thoguht WOW what a great app.. Works great!

Worked well, fast

Used Free AVCHD to Mov to convert some “troubled” AVCHD footage into Prores for Final Cut Pro. Note: Use ProRES 422 Standard, from pull down menu, to create clips Final Cut Pro timeline likes. Tech support via email was lighting fast. Slight lauguage barrier.

SONY AVCHD and FCP7

Bought a new SONY, it shoots in AVCHD…FCP doesn’t see it. I found this app and went for it. It worked beautiful. Be sure to choose the right output, drop and drag, click START. I still had to convert from final file using MPEGSTREAMCLIP, in order to get FCP to see it. Perhaps I am not doing it right still? Nonetheless, this app does it what says and got it converted. NIce job. Thanks,

Great FREE program

I can’t beieve this is free. I’m going to buy the “Pro” version just to help this guy out.

Great Utility for Simple, Batch Conversions

This team has done a great job offering a simple conversion utility for AVCHD. I’m not a professional editor, but I know enough to be dangerous. This tool does exactly as it says, plus a bit more. There are more formats than just MOV. Thanks for the time-saver!

Simple and to the point - and necessary if you us Sony or Panasonic HD Cams

Love how easy this was right out of the gate. I’m happy with the results and will use and recommend this to others in the future. Get CLEAR on what you want the final output to be - i just needed it in .mov file to work with in editing. Thanks!

Sony AVCHD

This app is excelllent for re-wrapping AVCHD to MP4. My Sony video camera produces AVCHD files. This app allows me to convert those files to one simple MP4 video file, without ANY loss of quality. This is done by re-wrapping, instead of re-encoding. I need this app because my Mac does not play the AVCHD files, and, i want one simple MP4 file instead of all those pesky avchd/mts files. Even if you have a PC, which will play the AVCHD files, i would still convert the AVCHDs to MP4s because MP4 is more universal and easier to work with. Easy to use. Very quick. I did my whole libary. Thank you!

Great App

This App is great. Was hesitant to download it at first but when I tried it I loved it. Turned most of my m2ts to mov.

keep getting error

i use to use this app and it worked great now i go to convert a video and it says “finished 1 error”!!! help me

Was able to convert m2ts files to my iMovie for editing

A videographer sent me by email files of his raw video in m2ts for me to edit and make a movie on my iMac. At first I couldn’t get it to play after downloading it. The Apple crew showed me scores of conversion programs to download which may or may not work. Most of them costing $10 - $30. Naturally I chose this one for free, and it worked. I could have used instructions, but google had plenty of sites to teach me. It only works after playing with it for a while, but worth the free price.
